Forgotten Sunglasses

Reflected in the lenses of forgotten spectacles are the eyes of the departed person. According to European & Eastern myth, a reflection of a person retains part of his vital energy or inner “soul twin.” A bubbly cloud above the spectacles symbolizes the recent presence of a person, his soul. Reflection of man is symbolic of self knowledge; for example, in Japanese culture, Izanagi, the creator of the universe, gave his children a mirror and ordered them to look into it each morning until they were rid of bad thoughts and feelings.
